Tech Tuesdays for teens to run through Aug. 15
The Niederkorn Library is one of 15 libraries to receive a Teens Teach Tech grant from AT&T and PLA Incentive to provide technology resources to middle school students.
The grant will also allow the library to increase its technology outreach efforts with the Port Senior Center.
“The goal of the grant is to improve the digital skills of residents,” Library Director Tom Carson said.
Library Youth Services Director Jamie Mercer noted that the grant will help teach students and seniors how to be responsible with their digital footprint and handle tech challenges.
Technology Tuesdays workshops for teens are being held at 2 p.m. at the library.
The sessions began on July 11 and 18 with sessions on digital habits and cyber safety and will continue through Aug. 15.
The topics for upcoming sessions include digital footprints on July 25, online misinformation on Aug. 1, online relationships on Aug. 8 and digital drama on Aug. 15.
