Sun shines on final Summer Nights LIVE

Belgium’s third Summer Nights LIVE event of the year was held on a humid but not rainy night last Friday in Community Park. An estimated 250 to 300 people came to see Twenty-Three and the String Along String Band (top), devour rotisserie chicken dinners made by Belgium Scouts such as (bottom, from left) Tom, Miles and Trey Smyczek. People enjoyed beverages courtesy of the beer garden host, the Belgium Lions Club and perused a market with various vendors. The Belgium Area Chamber of Commerce organized the free events after a brainstorming session of community leaders and businesspeople identified what would help revitalize the village. The series regularly drew as many as 300 people. “We are definitely doing this again next summer. BACC’s goal is to bring families out to have fun together while enjoying food, beverages and each other’s company,” Chamber President Annie Noster said. Photos by Sam Arendt
