Summer hours to start at the town dump

The Town of Belgium will begin its summer hours at the dump next month.

Residents will be able to drop off materials from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays from May 5 through Sept. 29.

In addition, the dump will open one hour earlier on Saturdays — 8 a.m. instead of 9 a.m. — from May through September. The 3 p.m. closing time remains the same.

The Town Board agreed to extend the Saturday hours last year, appeasing residents who want to leave early for weekend getaways.
