Students, Lions team up on a special Christmas gift

Ozaukee Elementary School and the Fredonia Lions Club team up this time of year to make sure senior citizens know they are remembered during the holiday season, and last week fourth-grade students in Sara Zimdars’ class (above), as well as those in Melissa Schreurs’ class, presented Christmas cards they made to the club. There to accept them were Al Krier (back left), who stood next to Zimdars, and Bob Morris (back right) who stood next to Ozaukee Elementary School Principal Lynn Kucharski. The Lions Club mailed the cards, along with $10 grocery gift cards, to 136 single senior citizens this week. The club used to deliver Christmas baskets to seniors but during the pandemic shifted to the Christmas card service project.
