Student Art Matters exhibit opens Jan. 25

The grand opening of the Student Art Matters exhibit at the Cedarburg Art Museum will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25.

The event will include a cash bar, children’s art project, cookies and at 7 p.m. a complimentary champagne toast.

There is no admission fee but a $5 donation is suggested.

The Student Art Matters program will be held throughout 2024, showcasing art created by students from public schools, including those with special needs.

The Student Art Matters exhibit opens with artwork from the Grafton and Mequon Thiensville School Districts being displayed through Feb. 18. An opening reception will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25.

Artwork by students in the Cedarburg and Port Washington-Saukville school districts will be showcased from Feb. 24 through March 24, with an opening reception to be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 29.

Artworks from middle school students throughout Ozaukee County will be featured from March 30 to April 28, with an opening reception to be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, April 11.

The work of high school students from throughout the county will be showcased from May 2 to 26, with an opening reception set for 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, May 9.

“Shaped by Water,” a high school juried show, will be held from June 8 to Sept. 22. An opening reception will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, June 13.

The work of students from Balance Inc. and PIGments for a Cause will run from Sept. 28 to Nov. 10, with an opening reception set for 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3.

Work from clients of Artistry Oasis and Portal, Inc. will be featured from Nov. 16 to Jan. 5, with an opening reception slated for 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21.
