Small dog area may be added to park

Belgium is considering adding a separate small dog area to the village’s dog park.

The Parks and Recreation Committee on Sept. 9 proposed the item be put in next year’s budget.

Committee chairman Don Gotcher said he has heard of one issue with a small dog at the park.

The committee asked village treasurer Vickie Boehnlein to get feedback from residents about adding the small dog area through surveys and on the village’s website, newsletter and Facebook page.

The issue will be discussed at the village’s Committee of the Whole meeting along with other budget items this fall.
