Showing off the oldies but goodies
There wasn’t a lot of snow on the ground but enough for snowmobile enthusiasts to break out their machines and show them off at the Snow Runners 14th annual Vintage Snowmobile Show, Ride and Chili Dump at the R&R Bar and Grill in the Town of Port Washington Saturday. Riding a Bolens Hus-Ski manufactured in the 1960s were Scott and Tracy Amerling (above left photo). Riding a Mallard Sno-Wing from the same era was Darryl Adams (above right). The Sno-Wing was made by West Bend-based Mallard Coach, which was better known for its travel trailers. Also going for a spin were John and Ava West, who rode a classic Arctic Cat (right). In addition to being a highlight of the season for snowmobile aficionados, the event raised money for the Wisconsin Humane Society’s Ozaukee Campus in Saukville. It was donated in the name of Jed Ostermann, a snowmobile collector and club member who died in January 2019. The Saukville-based Village Sno-Seekers helped with the event. Photos by Sam Arendt
