Shipwreck sanctuary to be program topic
A program on the Wisconsin Shipwreck Coast National Marine Sanctuary will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, at the Port Washington State Bank Community Room in Port.
The program will be presented by Paul Hacker, a member of the sanctuary Advisory Council, and Caitlin Zant, a maritime archaeologist and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration affiliate for presentations.
Hacker will present an overview of the sanctuary and Zant will talk about new discoveries made about the Niagara sidewheel palace steamer shipwreck near Port Washington.
The presentation is hosted by the Shipwreck Coast Friends and the Port Washington Historical Society.
There is no fee but those attending are asked to register ahead of time at www.pwhistory.org/events.
