Service at the holidays

Sage the comfort dog was a special visitor to St. John XXIII School in Port Washington on Nov. 21, visiting students — including the basketball team (left photo). Sage and her owner Lois Harrison of Concordia University presented a program on comfort dog ministry, how it works and its benefits. During the visit, Sage enjoyed a hug from sixth-grader Gabriela Sereno (right photo) while Harrison looked on. The presentation was part of a community speaker series being held this year by the school. The next one is set for 6 p.m. Jan. 23. The topic has not been announced.           Photos by Sam Arendt
