The Grafton Rose-Harms American Legion Post 355 baseball team went 1-2 in last weekend’s regional AA tournament in Beaver Dam.
The Patriots beat Wisconsin Dells, 11-0, in five innings behind Hunter Bramstedt’s two-hit gem on Friday. He allowed two walks while striking out eight. He threw 46 strikes on 65 pitches (71%).
Dylan Bodoh had a single and a double, two RBIs and a walk. Sef Von Strobel, Isaiah King and Gavin Pitchford each had a hit and two RBIs. Von Strobel had a double.
The Patriots scored in every inning — two runs in the first, one in the second and four each in the third and fourth.
On Saturday, the team was shorthanded with just nine players, and one was playing with a leg injury. Beaver Dam won, 10-0, in six innings, racking up 14 hits and scoring six runs in the fifth inning.
Bodoh, Von Strobel and Reed Schaefer each walked.
Later, the team lost, 2-1, to Kewaskum.
Brady Eader allowed one run, four hits and four walks while striking out seven over six innings. Of his 96 pitches, 64 were strikes (67%).
Von Strobel allowed a walk and a run while striking out one in 1/3 of an inning.
“Eader threw a gem and Dylan Bodoh (at catcher) called a great game,” coach Brian Durst said.
Luke Michalak had a double, RBI and a walk. Von Strobel had two hits and a walk. Bodoh had a double and scored a run. Jake Green had a double.
“I’m really proud of our effort in the game. Our seniors went out on a strong note despite the loss,” Durst said. “Our underclassmen stepped up as the season went on and showed improvement against quality competition.”
The seniors included Michalak, Bodoh, Eader and Von Strobel.
Beaver Dam beat Kewaskum, 8-1, to win the regional.
