Senior Center offers belly dance, yoga

The Grafton Senior Center will hold classes in January to teach people how to belly dance and practice yoga.

• In Beginner Belly Dance, students will learn a set of vocabulary of belly dance movements, combinations and cues to dance together as a group.

Improvisational group dancing will allow students to move together as one unit, inviting possibilities for creative expression.

Hip belts or a shawl to wear around the hips is encouraged but not required.

Sessions will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Sundays from Jan. 11 to Feb. 15, at the Grafton Senior Center, 1667 Seventh Ave.

The cost is $90. Advance registration is required and can be done online at https://graftonwi.activityreg.com or by calling the Grafton Parks and Recreation Department at (262) 375-5310.

• Mobility Yoga will enhance flexibility and strength in a class that blends mobility training and yoga.

The class is for all levels. People are asked to bring a yoga mat and blanket. Yoga blocks and straps are available.

Sessions will be held from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Saturdays from Jan. 17 to March 14, at the Senior Center. Dana Thomas is the instructor.

The cost is $40 for village residents and $57 for nonresidents. Advance registration is required and can be done online at https://graftonwi.activityreg.com or by calling the Grafton Parks and Recreation Department at (262) 375-5310.
