School District sets 3, 4-year-old screenings

Developmental screening for children ages 3 and 4 will be held by the Port Washington-Saukville School District on Thursday, Sept. 18, and Wednesday, Jan. 14.

The screenings are intended for children who seem to be behind others their age.

If a child is found to have difficulties that may interfere with learning, the screening will determine if special educational programming could benefit the youngster.

These impairments include speech impairment, learning disabilities, visual disabilities, hearing impairments, physical disabilities, autism and development delays.

Children who qualify will be able to participate in the district’s early childhood program.

The screening, subsequent testing and enrollment in the early childhood program are offered at no cost to parents.
