Scam prevention is focus of May 23 talk

Scam prevention is the topic for a 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, program at the Port Washington Senior Center.

The program will focus on popular scams, such as the grandparent scam where people pose as a grandchild in trouble, banking scams where people are sent forged cashier’s checks with false information, and lottery and sweepstakes scams where people use fraudulent tactics to obtain money or personal information from victims.

The program is presented by the Senior Center, Port Washington Police Department and Associated Bank.
