Saukville Legion has full slate of Memorial Day activities planned

The Landt-Thiel American Legion Post 470 will host a Memorial Day observance in Saukville on Monday, May 26, beginning with an 8 a.m. ceremony at Union Cemetery. 

At 9 a.m., there will be a march from the cemetery to Veterans Park. Participating in the procession will be the American Legion Riders, Post 470 honor guard, a float honoring local students who received either a Legion Citizenship Award or scholarship, students selected for Badger Boys and Badger Girls State, the Legion Auxiliary’s Americanism Essay Contest winners and the poppy princess.

A short program in the park is expected to begin at 9:15 a.m.

After the program, the public is invited to lunch at the Legion Post, 601 W. Dekora St.
