Riveredge trails to open on Friday nights
Riveredge Nature Center in the Town of Saukville will hold its Trails Aglow night hikes on Fridays beginning Jan. 3 and running through Feb. 14.
People may drop in at the center from 4:30 to 8 p.m. and hike, ski or snowshoe a 1-1/2-mile loop lit by luminaries, then warm up by a campfire.
Snowshoes will be available to rent on a first-come, first-served basis for $10. There is no charge for Riveredge members.
There will be a theme each week with activities outside as well as inside.
On Jan. 3, opening night is the theme and wine will be available for people ages 21 and older.
Jan 10 is s’mores night and Jan 17 is owl prowl night.
Stargazing scavenger hunt is the Jan. 24 theme, and music in nature with live music is the theme for Jan. 31.
Feb 7 is game night and Feb. 14 is share the love of nature.
The trail events are free, and people who plan to attend are asked to register ahead by visiting riveredgenaturecenter.org/program/trails-aglow/ or calling (262) 375-2715.
