Residents alerted about power-line work
Some property owners in Saukville will be contacted in coming weeks regarding the reconstruction of power lines near their property in the next few years, a letter from American Transmission Company states.
The reconstruction of the power lines is needed to improve reliability in the area and will include rebuilding steel monopoles and adding another circuit, Lee Meyerhofer, a local relations representative for ATC, said in a letter to the Village of Saukville in October.
Clearing of vegetation will begin next spring as will installation of structure foundations. Construction of the new power line will occur in 2020 and 2021.
“In the next few weeks our contractor, Nelson Tree Service, will be contacting landowners to describe the nature of the vegetation management that will be performed on individual properties,” the letter states.
Meyerhofer said representatives of the construction contractor, Henkels & McCoy, also may be contacting some landowners.
