Registrations taken for Riveredge events

Registrations are being accepted for three popular events at Riveredge Nature Center in the Town of Saukville.

The Handmade for the Holidays events for children and teens, where participants rotate through various stations to make holiday crafts, will be held this weekend.

The teen event for youths ages 11 to 17 will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Nov.18. Participants will make Lake Michigan snowflakes, alphabet bead jewelry, a woodland creature ornament, mushroom lights, a gift for the birds and try wood burning.

The children’s’ event for those ages 2 to 11 will be from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19.

They will do woodworking, make a water star keychain, pinecone penguin, milkweed pod prairie fairy, a gift for the birds and happy acorns.

Hot cocoa, popcorn and tea will be served.

The cost for All-Access members is $20, Trail Pass members is $25 and nonmembers is $30.

The annual Yule log hunt for members and non-members will be held from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4.

Participants will head to the woods with candle lanterns to try to be the first to spot the Yule log hidden in the forest. Once it is found, children will bring it back to the barn, where it will be used for a fire. Cocoa will be served.

Registrations are also being accepted through Dec. 1 for the Family Ski and Snowboard Club.

The club is for youths ages 5 to 17 and their families to learn how to ski or snowboard in a cost-effective way.

New and experienced skiers and snowboarders are all welcome.

The club meets every Thursday in January at Sunburst Winter Sports Park in Kewaskum.

The fee of $150 for All Access members, $155 for Trail Pass members and $160 for nonmembers covers all lessons, lift tickets and club card.

Equipment rental options are also available.
