Registrations being taken for Frebeka 5 event

Registrations are being accepted for the Frebeka 5 Family Health Challenge, which will be held at 8 a.m. on Sunday, June 30, in Waubedonia Park.

The Frebeka 5-mile run is challenging but also family focused. Among the other events offered are a one-mile “Kids Fun Run,” two-mile run and a one- or two-mile walk on flat trails, organizers said.

Pets are allowed.

The Frebeka 5 Family Health Challenge was started by the Fredonia Lions Club in 1989 as a fundraising project for area community organizations.

The race course starts in Waubedonia Park, follows along the Milwaukee River to Waubeka, passing Stony Hill School, then goes into the Village of Fredonia and finishes back at Waubedonia Park.

Advanced registration fees are $25 for adults and $10 for the kid’s run. Day-of-run registration is $30 for adults and $15 for children.

The early registration deadline is midnight Thursday, June 27.

To register, go to raceplace.com or contact Ralph Luedtke at rgluedtke38@gmail.com or call Lefty Fowler at 692-9667.
