Port students come through for the homeless

During a winter that has been particularly difficult for people who live on the streets, students at Thomas Jefferson Middle School in Port Washington came through by collecting 1,890 pairs of socks that they donated to Mr. Bob’s Under the Bridge, a Cedarburg nonprofit organization that helps homeless people. Ready to deliver bags of socks to the group were (front row, from left) Tadhg Burke, Bryce Grant, Logan Last, (back row) Karlie Krueger and Isaac Daevel. Bryce held a trophy donated by Mike Kryshak of Rebel Converting in Saukville that goes to the grade that collected the most socks during the annual drive, which as the 5 on the sock suggest, was the fifth grade. Johnson School Bus Service also pitched in by donating a bus and driver to deliver the socks.                                                                                                  Photo by Bill Schanen IV
