Port aldermen file papers to run for re-election

Half of the incumbent Port Washington aldermen whose seats are up for election this year had returned their nomination papers by late Friday afternoon, Dec. 27.

None had filed noncandidacy papers as of 3:45 p.m. Friday. The deadline to submit these papers was 5 p.m. Friday.

Completed nomination forms had been filed by District 1 Ald. Deb Postl and District 5 Ald. Jonathan Pleitner, according to City Clerk Susan Westerbeke.

District 3 Ald. Mike Gasper and District 7 Ald. John Sigwart had not filed their nomination papers yet, Westerbeke said.

No one other than the incumbents had filed nomination papers as of Dec. 27.

The deadline for filing those papers is 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7.
