Park and Rec department has full spring lineup planned

The Grafton Parks and Recreation Department offers games, education and life-saving techniques this spring.

CPR/automated external defibrillator (AED) and first aid certification will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, at the municipal services facility.

Registrants will be emailed a link to complete the online portion of the class — it could take as long as two and a half hours —before the session, and they must bring a copy of the online verification certificate.

Upon completion of the hands-on skills session, participants will receive a CPR/AED/First Aid certification card valid for two years.

Jessica Heller of the American Red Cross will teach the class.

The cost is $45 for residents and $68 for nonresidents.

Register online at or call the department at 375-5310. The registration deadline is May 3.

• Keep Grafton Clean Day will be held at 10 a.m. at Lime Kiln Park on Saturday, May 14, rain or shine.

Assignments to parts of the village will be given, and participants will receive a free day pass to the Milwaukee County Zoo and Grafton Family Aquatic Center.

Gloves, garbage bags and a snack will be provided.

• Disc golf lessons for children ages 8 to 14 will be held from 4:15 to 5:15 from May 16 to 18 at the Zaun Pavilion at Lime Kiln Park.

Each participant will receive three discs — a driver, mid-range and putter — to keep.

Professional disc golf player Aaron Trimmer is the instructor.

The cost is $25 for village residents and $38 for nonresidents.

• An adult bean bag league will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays from May 31 to June 28 at the Zaun Pavilion in Lime Kiln Park.
