Newburg board selects new village president, trustees

The Newburg Village Board filled several vacant seats last week following the resignations of its president and one of its trustees.

Dave DeLuka was appointed president, succeeding Rena Chesak, who resigned after one year in office due to conflicts with her employment.

DeLuka applied for the position.

Sandy Stockhausen and Bill Sackett were appointed to fill two vacant trustee positions created by DeLuka’s appointment to be president and the resignation of Sarah Beimborn, who left because she is moving out of the village.

Stockhausen is a former trustee.

Sackett is a former village president and was appointed last summer to fill a vacant term on the board when Chris Stangel resigned from the board.

Neither Stockhausen nor Sackett ran for re-election in April but both applied for the vacant trustee posts filled last week.
