Mark Kimball

Mark Kimball passed away on Monday, Sept. 16, at the age of 69.

Mark David Kimball was born on June 20, 1950, the sixth of eight children born to the late John S. and Margaret (Kiffe) Kimball. His twin brother Joseph died at birth.

Mark graduated in 1968 from Port Washington High School.

He married Cindy Jean Krueger of Grafton in 1971, and their union was blessed with four daughters.

In 2007, Mark married Karen Sue Johnson, who preceded him in death exactly two years ago after a courageous battle with Lewy body dementia.

Throughout his life, Mark was an avid musician in Ozaukee County, singing barbershop, playing in the Port City Band and directing church choirs at both St. Peter's and St. John's in Port Washington. For 13 years, he was also the director of the Ozaukee Chorus.

Mark and his wife Karen were supporters of the United Way and Make a Wish Foundation. Together they raised over $15,000 through grassroots efforts for these charities.

Mark worked as a mechanic at the Wisconsin Electric Power Plant for over 30 years.

Mark will be remembered as someone who cared deeply for his family and gave of his time, talents and heart to the causes he believed in.

“He was a hard worker, great storyteller and jokester, and would give the shirt off his back to his neighbors,” his daughter Trea said.

Throughout the years, family members would just shake their heads at the numerous stories of the pranks he would pull on his coworkers and friends.

Survivors include his daughters Trea of Wisconsin Rapids, Rachel (Paul) Krause of Fredonia, Jennifer (Garrett) O’Marrah of the Town of Grafton and Sara Kimball of Port Washington; grandchildren Trevor Krause, Megan Krause, Bennett Metzler, Ella McManus and Aria O’Marrah; and stepgrandchildren Addisson and Garrett O’Marrah Jr.

Mark is also survived by siblings William, Mary, Jon, Anne, Paul and Joan; numerous nieces and nephews;  and his stepchildren Theresa (Ron) Klippel and Mike (Michelle) Biddle.

Mark was preceded in death by his twin brother, parents, son-in-law Mark Taucher and his beloved wife Karen.

Per Mark's wishes, no services will be held.

In lieu of flowers, please honor Mark through making a donation to the charity of your choice.

Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Port Washington.

The family would like to thank the caregivers of Horizon Home Hospice and Melanie and  Malaysia from Prime Horizon.
