Local Scouts donate 5,033 pounds of food

    Scouts in Port Washington and Saukville who recently held a food drive at Piggly Wiggly in the two communities collected 5,033 pounds of food and $3,300.
    Boy Scout Troop 855 and Cub Scout Pack 3837 of Port collected 2,932 pounds of food and $2,886 in donations.
    Of that, they donated 1077 pounds of food and $1315 in donations to the Saukville Food Pantry and 1,855 pounds of food and $1571 in donations to the Port Washington Food Pantry.
    Saukville Scouts collected 2,147 pounds of food and $413.36 in donations for the pantries.
     The Port Washington Scout units have decided to make the collection an annual event that will replace the Scouting for Food Bags door-to-door collection.
    If residents receive a bag at home, filled bags can be dropped off at the Piggly Wiggly locations.
