LETTER: Stroebel helped cosmetologist deal with frustrating agency
To Ozaukee Press:
State Sen. Senator Duey Stroebel is an effective legislator who goes above and beyond to help his constituents. Earlier this year, I called his office because I was having issues renewing my cosmetologist license with the state. I was thoroughly impressed by how attentive he was and how quickly he worked to resolve the problem.
Over the past few years, I had forgotten to renew my license in an oversight on my part. I contacted the Department of Safety and Professional Services to try to clear things up, but they were unwilling to accommodate my requests to mail in my renewal application. I attempted to use the department’s online portal, but was only met with more frustration.
With nowhere else to turn, I did something that I’ve never done before—I contacted my legislator. I wasn’t sure what to expect. From what you see on the news, the government often seems so dysfunctional and divisive with very few people willing to be adults and work to solve problems. Fortunately for me, Sen. Stroebel and his team resolved my issue, and I received an application for license renewal in the mail.
Working with Sen. Stroebel restored my faith that there are still elected officials who truly are looking out for their constituents and fighting for,the “little guy.” He and his staff were so thoughtful and thanks to them I am able to continue with my passion of cosmetology.
I hope the voters of the 8th Senate District join me in voting to keep Duey Stroebel in Madison to keep working for us.
