LETTER: Scott Walker’s claim that he’s ‘education governor’ is a joke
To Ozaukee Press:
While campaigning, Scott Walker has claimed to be “the education governor.”
This is as believable as Hannibal Lecter becoming a vegan.
Since becoming governor, Scott Walker has cut $3.5 billion from public education budgets.
Fortunately, in this election the voters of Wisconsin have an opportunity to elect a lifelong champion of public schools, Tony Evers. When he is elected as governor, Evers will restore the funding that public schools need to ensure that all of our students can be successful.
If Wisconsin fails to elect Evers as well as other pro-public education candidates (like Chris Rahlf for the Assembly) Walker will continue to dismember our school budgets, further restricting the funding that is necessary to provide our students with the educational resources they need.
Please join me in voting for Tony Evers on Nov. 6 and ensuring that all of Wisconsin’s students are able to attend appropriately funded schools so they can receive the education they deserve.
