LETTER: Republican effort to influence high court election backfired

To Ozaukee Press:

This letter is to commend Ozaukee Press for the outstanding editorial in the April 16, “An election both inspiring and troubling.”

I find it highly ironic that Republican Party leaders, who claim to be pro-life, encouraged Wisconsin citizens to get out to vote in the midst of a pandemic, putting thousands of lives at risk.

Thanks again for your brilliant analysis of this chaotic situation. While every other state with a scheduled in-person primary election postponed it, Republican leaders here thought only of political gain. However, they failed to reach that goal in the Wisconsin Supreme Court race, with Jill Karofsky, the liberal candidate, winning convincingly.
