LETTER: Funeral prices have become too high for grieving families
To Ozaukee Press:
I am writing in regard to the skyrocketing price of funerals. It’s now up to $11,000. This is uncalled for. My mom died in 1996, and her funeral was $3,200. We thought that was high.
I recently lost my youngest sister. That was really hard on our family. Such an emotional time to make decisions, especially when it’s unexpected. Funeral costs are getting way out of hand for grieving families.
Did anyone ever try to regulate the price of funerals?
We only get a $255 death benefit from the government. That should have changed a long time ago.
