LETTER: In Fredonia, flags and prayers back Ukraine in Russian war

To Ozaukee Press:

The photo accompanying this letter,  taken in my Fredonia backyard, features my brother Dan, the Marine man on the left, and yours truly on the right.

The Ukrainian flag is displayed with two American flags. I am also honored to have a 5-by-8-foot American flag on a 20-foot flag pole right next to a 3-by-5-foot Ukrainian flag on a 15-foot pole in my front yard. I have been very pleased to receive many compliments by motorists passing by on the village’s main street.

I must add that the late Jack Janik, former president of the National Flag Day Foundation, put up the American flag some 15 years ago. His son David Janik put up the Ukrainian flag this spring. I have been pleased to see a number of photos in Ozaukee Press featuring the Ukrainian flag in various locations.

The free world continues to pray for the liberation of Ukraine and the demise of Putin the putrid. To be honest, I pray for that every day.
