LETTER: Cain has earned call up to big leagues of county court system

To Ozaukee Press:

In addition to having the honor of serving as the mayor of the City of Cedarburg, I also have spent the past 28 plus years as a police officer with the City of Glendale. As the court liaison officer for my department for the past two years, I’ve presented criminal cases to the district attorney and guided these cases through the criminal justice process. Having the opportunity to interact with many prosecutors and circuit court judges in my career, I have found one quality to be a prime indicator of the success and effectiveness of these judges:  experience.

This is why I am endorsing Steve Cain for the Ozaukee County Circuit Court.
Steve has been practicing law for 20 years, and has prosecuted hundreds of OWI cases and litigated civil and criminal cases of all types. For the past10 years, he has been the judge in the Mid-Moraine Municipal Court, serving as the local judge for 16 communities and handling over 20,000 matters per year.

Somehow, Steve has also found the time to contribute to the Ozaukee and legal communities. He is past president of the Wisconsin Municipal Judges Association and a member of the Ozaukee County Criminal Justice Collaborating Council. He is also a past president of the Cedarburg-Grafton Rotary Club and the Ozaukee Bar Association.

As we anticipate the Brewers baseball season, allow me to use a baseball analogy: Steve has worked tirelessly to sharpen his skills as a judge in Municipal Court, the minor league of our local courts. He deserves a call up to the big leagues. Vote for Steve Cain on April 2.
