LETTER: Biden’s job numbers are quite confusing, also quite wrong

To Ozaukee Press:

Last Thursday night, President Biden once again used creative numbers to make things appear as they are not. He claimed the lowest unemployment rate in 50 years while using Covid to skew totals from the Trump Era.

During the middle of Obama’s time in office, unemployment was 7.9%. In 2019, before Covid, Trump’s policies had it down to 3.6%, which equates to 6 million fewer people out of work.

Twenty million people lost jobs during early Covid. The president went on to credit the millions of illegal aliens with helping the imagined rebound. If the presidents claim of 15 million new jobs was true, would not his claim of approximately 4% unemployment be even higher? After all, the 12 million illegal aliens, as some report as the true total, were not here before 2021. With 20 million jobs lost from Covid, 15 million new jobs still leaves 5 million more out of work.

Looks like we are back to Obama era unemployment.
