LETTER: The best of Port pride: homecoming 2018 at Port High
To Ozaukee Press:
Port Washington and Saukville are fabulous communities, and if anyone doubted that they would only need to look to the activities held during homecoming week for proof.
This past week was such a great example of Port pride. From the powder puff football games on Sunday all the way through to the homecoming dance on Saturday night, the communities were filled with excitement and enthusiasm for their school district and our students.
We cannot thank the people of Port and Saukville enough for their encouragement and support. They sent the message to our students that they value them and take pride in all they are doing.
Once again our students conducted themselves in an outstanding manner. Our Student Council led by Jen Riley and Emily O’Brien orchestrated many amazing events for students and staff. Our band, choir, dance team and class advisers all worked overtime to make homecoming a very special event.
Students showed their sportsmanship at the many sporting events held throughout the week and school spirit at assemblies and parade. Thank you to the staff, support staff and students for making this homecoming so memorable
Also, we would like to thank the members of the Pirate Parent Group and Athletic Booster Club who spent countless hours preparing for our annual tailgate party and concessions stand for the events. Thank you also to all the sponsors that made it possible to provide all the events.
We are proud to be a part of this incredible school district. Please keep that school spirit alive throughout the rest of the year, and know that we will do our best to positively represent the communities in whatever we do. It is truly a great time to be a Pirate!
