LETTER: Abortion foes not entitled to force their beliefs on others
To Ozaukee Press:
The idea that life begins at conception is a valid belief, a religious belief, and I will always support the right of people to live their own lives according to their religious beliefs.
I don’t understand why people might find a need to force others to live by their religious beliefs. That’s pretty unAmerican on its face, isn’t it?
Abortion is a complicated decision that no one wants to have to make. Every pregnancy has significant lifelong impacts on a woman’s health and the course of her life. That is why it must be her decision, not one that is made for her by government.
And her choices certainly should not be constrained by laws written by men over 100 years ago when women were not even considered to be equipped to be full participants in society.
