LETTER: 180 volunteers make Ozaukee 4-H a valued youth experience

To Ozaukee Press:

Ozaukee County is proud to celebrate Volunteer Appreciation Week April 20-26 to honor the devoted individuals who generously give their time and talent to support the Ozaukee County 4-H program.

Ozaukee County 4-H relies heavily on volunteers. This year, 180 registered volunteers serve as 4-H club leaders, project leaders, countywide group leaders, leaders association members, 4-H event coordinators and various other volunteer roles.

Their dedication helps young people strengthen their decision-making skills, build leadership abilities and prepare for future careers. In supporting youth to discover their spark, 4-H volunteers play a vital role in shaping the next generation.

Wisconsin 4-H volunteers spend an average of nine hours per week supporting local 4-H experiences. Every day a volunteer is ensuring 4-H experiences are available to youth here in Ozaukee County. These experiences are essential not only to youth experiencing positive relationships with a caring adult, but also making communities stronger.

To become a 4-H volunteer or learn more about the Ozaukee County 4-H program, contact the Ozaukee County Extension Office at 262-284-8288 or abi.quinlan@wisc.edu.
