March 19, 2025

Eleven-year-old Sam Makos (front) pitched in to help teachers in the Port Washington-Saukville School District and a few other volunteers serve chili during a community meal at the Ozaukee Food Alliance in Saukville Saturday, March 15. The meal was prepared and served by a Port Washington Saukville Education Association crew that included Sandy Crain, Cyndi Makos, Ralph Perez, Brian Borley, Lizzy Prill, Julie Grudzinski, Emily, Charlotte and Kerry O’Brien, Sarah Dahl and Graham Garthus. Meals that are prepared by community groups are served at the food pantry in Saukville twice a month.    Photo by Sam Arendt
