Legion auxiliary helps suicide prevention efforts

Mary Ellen Race (right) of the Landt-Thiel American Legion Post 470 Auxiliary in Saukville presented a check for $2,000 recently to Laura Acompanado, suicide prevention coordinator at the Veterans Administration Zablocki Medical Center in Milwaukee. The money was raised at the auxiliary’s annual Harvest Moon Dance. “Our Auxiliary specifically requested that the funds go directly to benefit veterans in need under the Suicide Prevention Program,” Race said.
