Leg lamp trophies for those who brought holiday lights to Port

Receiving their trophies — miniature leg lamps made famous by “A Christmas Story” — for bringing a little light and holiday joy to the Port Washington area were the winners of the Lake Financial Group Christmas Lights Competition. Assembled in front of the Port Washington city Christmas tree were (from left in top photo) Brian Barber and Justin Behm, managing partners of the Port financial firm; Grace and Tom Hernandez, winners of the Clark Griswold Award (house above on Parknoll Lane); Gabe, 8, Candice, Raegan, 11, PJ and Evelyn, 14, Klopp, winners of the People’s Choice Award; Mike and Mary Schmitt, winners of the Best in Show Award; and Lefty Bichler of the Port Washington Historical Society, which chose the Best in Show winner. Port Main Street Inc. chose the Clark Griswold winner. More than 300 people voted this year, the most in the competition’s six years.
