To Ozaukee Press:

There is something magical about Port Washington’s Possibility Playground.

Not only is it a place that brings children of all abilities together to play side by side, it brings an entire community together to support it.

The Night with Nessie 10th anniversary auction and gala brought 250 people together Saturday night to celebrate a decade of accessible play and to raise money for the September expansion project that will feature a merry-go-round, band shell area and many new and updated components, including a new giant Loch Ness sculpture named Nessie that will grace the entrance.

The event wouldn’t have been possible without the help of the countless volunteers.

The artistic decorating crew turned the Lepanto Banquet Hall into a delightful, Nessie-themed room.

The support of the City of Port Washington and the Park and Recreation Department continues to be a large part of the playground’s success.

There were more than 200 silent and live auction items that were generously donated by area residents and businesses.

In all, the event raised more than $35,000 dollars.

The love and enthusiasm surrounding Possibility Playground is overwhelming, and we would like to thank everyone who volunteered, donated and attended the event to help bring Nessie home.
