Keep snow off the road
Belgium Public Works Director Dan Birenbaum told the Village Board on Monday that he noticed a disturbing trend while plowing during the last couple of snowstorms.
“About 25% of our residents are blowing snow on the road. We’ve got to stop that,” he said.
“It’s always the same people.”
Village Attorney Jerry Antoine said the village has an ordinance prohibiting that. He suggested collecting the addresses of the offenders and sending them letters.
“If you do it again, you’re going to get a ticket,” he said.
Birenbaum said getting the addresses won’t be difficult.
“The next time it snows, we’ll write them down,” he said.
