Kathleen Liebherr
Kathleen “Kay” Liebherr, 77, died of Lewy body dementia at her Grafton home on Friday, Jan. 25.
Mrs. Liebherr was born in Milwaukee on March 4, 1941, to Harry and Mable Schimelfenig Willing.
She was a longtime member of St. John Lutheran Church in Fredonia.
Mrs. Liebherr’s family said she enjoyed chocolate and good laugh. She also enjoyed listening to hip-hop music while her daughter Lori drove her to get hot chocolate at Starbucks or the Memory Cafés at Cedars III Bowling Center in Cedarburg and Riveredge Nature Center in Saukville.
After her death, her brain was donated to science for research.
Mrs. Liebherr is survived by her daughters Lori K. Wick, Julie (Dimitri) Stamatiou, and Shelley (Robert) Lutz; stepchildren Denise (Ray) Pausback, and Keith (Tracy) Liebherr; grandchildren Jessica (Clint) Turner, Christopher Lutz, Brett (Lauren) Lutz, Stamati Stamatiou and Stephanie Stamatiou; five step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Kurtis Liebherr.
A celebration of life ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, at Eernisse Funeral Home in Cedarburg.
Visitation will take place from 9 a.m. May 28 until the service.
Memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association are suggested.
