Karen Norman

Karen Ann Norman of Port Washington, Wis., passed away peacefully at home with her loving husband and children by her side on the evening of Thursday, Dec. 17, 2020. She was 69 years old.

Karen was born on Oct. 8, 1951, the daughter of the late Jean and John Repinski.

Karen married Robert (Bob) Norman of Port Washington, Wis., on Aug. 18, 1973.

Karen was a lifelong resident of Port Washington, where she valued her friendships throughout the community. At home, she enjoyed spending time in the kitchen, perfecting recipes and baking cookies with her grandkids. Karen was an avid supporter of all interests and hobbies of her loved ones. She spent many hours enjoying nights of live music while watching her husband play, cheering on the kids and grandkids at sporting events and attending their musical and theatrical performances.

Karen loved the outdoors and could be found biking through town or walking the beach in Florida where she and Bob spent their winters. She cherished traveling with family, and together they saw many parts of the world. On their frequent walks, Karen often took time to pause and teach her grandchildren about the wonders to be found in nature.

She was a nurturing and loving wife to Bob, mother to Brian (Amy) Norman and Erica (Adam) Silberman and compassionate and devoted grandmother to Abbey, Ben and Delaney Norman and Roan Silberman.

Karen is further survived by her brothers and sisters including Larry (Alice) Repinski of Manchester, Tenn., Robert Repinski of Duluth, Minn., Judy (Bob) Wheaton, Margina Repinski, Jan (Rick) Peiffer, all of Port Washington, Wis., and Mary Jo Joyce of West Bend, Wis.; sisters-in-law Georgine Norman of Alpharetta, Ga., and Mary (Mike) Ratatori of Port Washington;  brother-in-law Jim (Susan) Norman of Portland, Ore.; and many nieces; nephews; godchildren; and friends.

Outside of the home, Karen was a hard and loyal worker, spending portions of her career as a lifeguard at the Port Washington pool, managing the deli at Sentry Foods and in finance with Simplicity and Charter Steel.

A celebration of Karen’s life will be held at a later date.
