Janet La Grow

Janet A. La Grow, 74, died of cancer at her Saukville home on Wednesday, Jan. 24.

Mrs. La Grow was born in London, England, on July 30, 1944, to Frank Sr. and Kathleen Dorothy Day Sleik. After World War II, the family moved to her father’s home in Iron Mountain, Mich.

As a young adult, she moved to Milwaukee, where she met Dane La Grow. The couple was married on Nov. 5, 1966, in Iron Mountain, Mich.

Mrs. La Grow was a Master Gardner who also enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She loved taking trips across the countryside with her husband and grandchildren to explore shops, historical markers and beautiful views.

She spent her career in human resources, specializing in safety. Her last job was with Ataco Steel Products Corp.

Mrs. La Grow was a big supporter of her grandchildren’s events, games, concerts and plays. She could often be heard rooting for them in the stands, her family said.

A celebration of life ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Random Lake.

A dinner and fellowship time will follow the service.
