An ideal day for a leisurely ride through the countryside

The ninth annual tractor ride organized by Ken and Jackie Jentges of the Town of Port Washington on Saturday brought together the owners of nearly 60 tractors manufactured over a span of more than a half-century for a leisurely tour of northern Ozaukee County starting in rural Port, then going to the Lake Michigan shore in the Town of Belgium before heading across the county to the Mirror Bar in Dacada and back to Port. Among those participating was Jim Fahney (above left), who drove a mint-condition John Deere 730, a model produced in the late 1950s and early 1960s that was known for its fuel efficiency.
