Hwy. W flood mitigation plan hinges on land acquisitions

An Ozaukee County committee last week voted to apply for and accept two grants to acquire and develop land that will help prevent Highway W north of Saukville from annual flooding.

Plans call for moving Highway W, or Riverside Drive, slightly to the east and installing culverts to allow water from the Milwaukee River to flow under the roadway into a low-lying oxbow.
