Humane Society has children’s events

The Saukville campus of the Wisconsin Humane Society offers events for children to learn about and interact with furry and fuzzy friends.

• Camp Critter for children in grades one through three will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, July 8. The cost is $250.

Activities include animal-related crafts, games, a tour of the shelter and meeting some of the animals.

Camp T-shirts are encouraged but not mandatory.

• Jr. Vet Camp for children in grades six through nine will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, July 22. The cost is $275.

Activities include career exploration, crafts, a shelter tour and meeting some of the animals.

Camp T-shirts are encouraged but not mandatory.

•  “Story Time: Furry Tales” will be held from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday, July 18.

The program is for children ages 2 to 4 and includes animal-themed books with the chance to meet an animal.

There is a limit of three children per adult.

The program is free, but people are asked to bring an item from the Humane Society’s wish list to help the animals.

• A vaccine clinic for cats and dogs will be held from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday, July 17. Appointments are required.
