Helen Mueller

 

Helen M. Mueller, 89, died Thursday, Oct. 18, at Lasata Care Center in Cedarburg.

Mrs. Mueller was born in Port Washington on July 18, 1929, to Joseph and Julia Arendt Kolbach.

She graduated from Port Washington High School in 1947 and worked at Smith Brothers Fish Shanty Restaurant in Port Washington.  

On April 15, 1950, she married Harold Klug in Port Washington.  

The couple spent many years as Holstein dairy farmers on Klugdale Farms in Cedarburg. Mrs. Mueller was also a general 4-H leader for the Lakefield 4-H Club.

On May 29, 1993, she married Reginald Mueller, who was a caretaker at Pioneer Village in the Town of Saukville.

Mrs. Mueller was a member of the Landt-Thiel American Legion Auxiliary Unit 470 in Saukville, Port Washington Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post 7588 and the Luxembourg American Cultural Society in Belgium.

Mrs. Mueller is survived by her children Harold (Erlene) Klug of Faribault, Minn., Diana Marie (Gary) Mayer of Slinger and Janice (Roger) Kurth of Columbus.  

She is further survived by grandchildren Jason (Keara Kleinfeldt) Klug, Michael (Tanya) Klug, Brittany (Carl) Jacobsen, Amy Sue Mayer, Melissa (Nick) Hemling, Bryan (Gena Cooper) Kurth and Brandon (Jamine) Kurth; 14 great-grandchildren; sister Esther (Edward) Roeckl of Mount Pleasant; brother Robert (Karen) Kolbach of Anaheim, Calif.; and stepson Reggie (Pam Duerkoop) Mueller Jr. of Minden, Nev.

Mrs. Mueller was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Harold Klug and Reginald Mueller; brother Walter Kolbach; sisters Eleanor Kassens and Viola Kolbach; sister-in-law Alice Kolbach; and brother-in-law Hugo Kassens.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at noon Friday, Oct. 26, at St. John XXIII Parish, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Saukville. Father Patrick Wendt will preside.

Internment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Saukville.

Visitation will be at the church Friday from 10 a.m. to noon.  

Poole Funeral Home, Port Washington, is handling the arrangements.
