Happy birthday, Riveredge

A group of Riveredge Nature Center supporters gathered recently at the Fermatorium Brewery and Tasting Room in the Town of Cedarburg to celebrate the Town of Saukville center’s 56th birthday. Gathered around Executive Director John Rakowski, who held a birthday cake, were Joy Frieda, Jane Novak, Sharon Cross, Terry Retzke, Dan Dedrick, Terry King, Maddi and Chase Bilgo, ages 11 and 9, and Bonnie Probelski. Riveredge was created in 1968 on 72 acres by members of the Whitefish Bay Garden Club. The center, which offers nature-based educational programs, has grown to 402 acres and has more than 10 miles of trails. Photo by Sam Arendt
