Fish fry draws a crowd ... of volunteers and diners

When it comes to hosting a fish fry during Lent, it’s all hands on deck at St. Joseph Parish School in Grafton, where students, parents and other parish members chip in to cook and serve a feast for scores of diners. At a recent fish fry, students (top left photo, from left) Bella Masse, Tyler Domu and Maddie Spring served meals while the team of (from left in bottom left photo) Becky Meyer, Steve Rakoczy and Helen Goetz prepared plates. Cook Bryan Medinger (lower middle) showed off a tray of golden fried fish, plates of which were served by Monica Boehm (top right). Among the more than 100 people who attended the fish fry were Monica and Parker Kroeger (bottom right). The school will host fish fries every Friday through March 24.      Photos by Sam Arendt
