Fire Dept., Legion hold joint dinner

Colton Borden, 9, (above photo) lowered spaghetti into his mouth at the inaugural joint fundraising dinner of the Belgium Fire Department and the Melvin Wester American Legion Post 412 of Belgium last Saturday at the fire house.

Al Poull and Nancy Jacoby readied plates of spaghetti and sauce. About 175 people attended to devour spaghetti, sauce, meatballs and sausages, garlic bread, salads and homemade desserts. Proceeds will be split evenly between the two groups. Money was being totaled this week, Fire Chief Dan Birenbaum said. Photos by Sam Arendt
