Finding pumpkins and Halloween fun in Port

Port Washington’s Upper Lake Park was filled with pumpkins and costumed characters Friday for the Parks and Recreation Department’s Huntin’ for Pumpkins event. Not only did children get to search for pumpkins, but once they found them they decorated them and had photos taken with their creations. Among those participating in the fun were 4-year-old princesses Mayla Pleitner and Madelyn Herian. Skeletons Finn and Cole Janke took a close look at a spider hanging from a web before venturing into a pavilion. Dressed as Little Red Riding Hood, Holly Kamenick was accompanied by her Irish wolfhound Juniper, who looked like a friendly version of the Big Bad Wolf. Behind Holly was her father Thomas.
